Chapter Fifteen: The Charity Event
Washington's Intelligence Agency never appeared more delighted as Luke and Christopher showed their identities, and the latter explained his near-death experience, just as the president apologized to Luke and restored him as an agent of the United States Government.

Stewart hosted a charity event at his house to help local children survive cancer. The cheerleaders of the Philadelphia Eagles were present, including Anne Miller herself, who stood before a rectangular table in the glass round room that Luke had previously shown her.
Mr. Lancaster looked her way, admiring her beauty more and more every day. He approached her as the occasion began to close and said, ''Can we talk, Anne?''
''Of course,'' the flirty eagle returned.
''I know that everything a few days ago was quite stressful,'' Luke began, pulling her aside. ''You probably have plenty of questions for me, though I cannot provide you with all the answers at this time.''
''Yes, I would like to know who was up to nearly killing a 100,000 people,'' Anne replied. ''I just don't understand you, Luke. If you know more, why don't you tell me?''
''It would be against my code of honor and my profession to do that, I'm afraid. Believe me, Anne, I intend to tell you more someday.''
''Our entire game was interrupted, and nearly all of us present died because of this perceived assassination attempt.''
''I know.''
''I just wish I knew how you knew all of this was about to happen.''
''Truly, I wish you would tell me more.''
''I bet you tell others, not me!''
Luke sensed Anne's irritation and feisty spirit as she drew away. He grabbed her hand, though, and forced her in his direction. ''I didn't risk my life for nothing,'' he emphasized with frustration. ''I've saved others before, though when I save you, I expect at least a thank you.''
''Thank you!'' Anne exclaimed with sarcasm.
Luke grabbed and smacked a passionate kiss on her lips before her hands slapped his face. ''Scoundrel!'' she shouted, before jerking her face in his direction, and kissing him in return.
One of the little girls was walking down the hallway of the house before seeing the young couple making out. She rushed her hands over her eyes at the sight and began running away, as if exposed to a passion beyond her years.
Anne's eyes remained closed as Luke continued to kiss her lips and face. ''If you only knew how long I wanted to do that,'' he said.
''It doesn't have to end,'' Anne added as Luke continued to kiss her further.
A back door opened, however, and the couple wondered what was occurring. Luke turned backwards, before realizing someone quite familiar had been present by accident.
Christopher stood by the open doorway to the outside before disappearing, though Luke noticed the violet curtains pointing his partner's way.
''Excuse me,'' he said to Anne, before stepping outside.
Luke paced toward the high rails of his uncle's balcony before noticing Christopher's shadow by a covered glass window nearby.
''We have every reason to believe that our case to defend Democracy is not yet over,'' Christopher began. ''You see, my friend, recent intelligence has informed me that Dr. Rose has escaped to England, and we are not yet certain why. I'm going to need to need your help finding out what he's up to.''
''Alright,'' Luke agreed.
''Until he is found, I believe that we will all be in danger.''
''Of course.''
''He must be found---he must be killed.''
''Indeed.''
Luke paused, wondering why Christopher was so adamant about the killing of Dr. Rose. The man had been a threat to them, but so were many across the globe. Besides, the old scientist was gone now, outside of their view, far from their visible reach, and if they did find him, why not capture him instead? The scientist belonged in a prison cell, tucked far away from society, though why did Christopher insist that they kill the man?
The young agent turned right to speak, but his co-partner was gone. Christopher was out of his view.
